Manufacturer data

Published specifications

The BRQC-RA10 is a pneumatic robot tool changer presented as paired robot-side and tool-side components. The supplier drawing states a 10 kg rated load and a 0.40–0.60 MPa pneumatic locking and unlocking pressure. Both sides list six air circuits. The robot-side component weighs 0.475 kg and the tool-side component weighs 0.235 kg. These component weights must be considered when checking the complete robot mounting load. The supplier notes that D-SUB electrical connectors are quoted separately. Confirm mounting geometry, the required signals and the intended coupling sequence before selecting a configuration; this is an end-of-arm accessory, not a standalone robot.

Specify what the coupling must carry and connect

The BRQC-RA10 record is a robot/tool coupling. It does not include a complete gripper, docking stand, robot flange adapter or validated cell. List every mechanical, pneumatic and optional electrical connection needed by the actual tool.

The published 10 kg figure is a selection starting point. Ask how the supplier defines that rating, what moments and accelerations are permitted and which components are included. An off-centre tool can exceed a moment limit even if its mass is below the headline rating.

Design the docking and recovery sequence

  1. Confirm robot and tool flange patterns, permitted orientation, alignment features and adapter drawings.
  2. Locate docking stands and approach paths; define position checks before coupling and before tool withdrawal.
  3. Define lock/unlock commands and the feedback required before enabling the tool or moving the robot.
  4. Test loss of air, missing feedback, failed docking and interrupted cycles using an agreed safe recovery method.

RA08 and RA10 need more than a payload comparison

The RA08 and RA10 records state 5 kg and 10 kg respectively and different coupling-half masses. A larger rating does not prove the flange, docking geometry, signal package or utility connections are interchangeable. Ask for both mechanical drawings and the same installed-load schedule.

Compare moment limits, repeatability definition, cycle durability conditions, utility losses and service requirements for the complete proposed configuration. These limits were not established in the reviewed record. Do not transfer another manufacturer’s tool-changer ratings to either BRQC model.

When the proposal or trial does not match the task

Use this checklist to agree checks with the responsible supplier or integrator. It is procurement guidance, not an instruction to bypass guards, interlocks or the equipment manual.

When the proposal or trial does not match the task: questions to resolve in the proposal
Published item / decisionHow to use itLimit to confirm
A proposed RA08 replacement does not dockCheck both half drawings, flange patterns, alignment and the actual stand.A larger payload rating does not establish interchangeability.
The robot load allowance changesInclude both coupling halves, adapters, tool and retained workpiece in the mass schedule. The changer rating is not the host robot’s available payload.
Behavior on lost air is uncertainRequest the model-specific retention/fault instructions and a validated recovery sequence.Do not infer fail-safe retention from the pneumatic operating range.

Resolve the supplied configuration and drawing

The supplier drawing notes that dimensions exclude connectors, while its electrical-connector note describes a separately quoted D-sub option. Include the installed connector and cable-bend envelope in collision and tool-rack checks. Obtain the assembled drawing rather than accepting the bare coupling outline as the full installed envelope.

What to include in a BRQC-RA10 RFQ

Your inputs · local calculation

Build the complete mounted-mass schedule

The recorded two coupling halves contribute 0.71 kg. Add components once: exclude this fixed mass from your inputs. The result is robot-mounted mass, not a statement that the changer or robot permits this load.

Enter your project inputs to calculate. No inputs are uploaded or saved.

Formula: recorded component mass + additional tooling + adapters/other equipment + retained workpiece. No automatic rating pass/fail; moments, load centre, acceleration and model-specific conditions need review.

Compare competing proposals on the same basis

Ask each bidder to answer these items against the same drawings, parts and operating sequence. An unanswered item is a comparison gap, not a passed requirement.

10 kg rated loadThe rating boundary, tool centre of gravity and supplier-approved load conditions.Twice the RA08 kg figure proves twice every other capability.
0.475 / 0.235 kg halvesThe actual robot-side and tool-side configuration, including adapters and connected services.A bigger coupling changes only the detachable-tool rating.
Six air circuitsA circuit schedule and required quoted modules, ports and services. The same circuit count means the same connection package.
0.40–0.60 MPaModel-specific supply conditions and the documented lock/unlock arrangement.Pressure range identifies fail-safe or sensing features.

Why RA10 must be reviewed as its own configuration

Its two halves total 0.710 kg, compared with 0.33 kg for RA08. The extra 0.380 kg matters in a host-robot mass schedule but is not a deduction from the published 10 kg coupling rating unless the supplier defines that rating accordingly. Ask for both the robot and coupling loading checks.

The directory has no published RA10 moment-capacity curve, tool-retention behaviour after air loss or confirmed interchangeability with RA08. Require these answers in the configuration review. A supplier quotation should identify optional electrical connectors and status hardware rather than relying on a shared series name.

Worked sourcing brief

Worked example for planning a quotation.

Assume a removable tool and workpiece weigh 7 kg before the coupling and adapters. That is above the RA08 headline 5 kg rating and below RA10’s 10 kg figure by mass alone. Ask Bangrun to confirm the RA10 rating boundary and geometry; ask the robot integrator to include the 0.710 kg coupling halves and all remaining mounted items. This is a shortlist screen, not a permitted operating configuration.

What to record before acceptance

Agree the test method, responsibilities and pass conditions before ordering. The items below are records to request, not a completed validation.

  1. Keep the RA10 interface and mass schedule, including the proposed tool and its centre of gravity.
  2. Record the supplier-approved load conditions and the itemised electrical and pneumatic package.
  3. Request the documented docking, status and exception sequence and retain the integrator’s application validation.

Buyer questions

Can I upgrade from RA08 by changing only one half?

No interchangeability is established here. Confirm compatible mating parts and mounting directly for the quoted assembly.

Does 10 kg tell me the allowable tool length?

No. Tool geometry and moment require model-specific limits not provided by the visible kg rating.
