Compare Post an RFQ

Autonomous forklifts

Autonomous forklift and side-loading AGV products for warehouse pallet handling. Compare load limits at the required lifting height, aisle clearance and pallet compatibility; lifting height is not robot-arm reach.

Check the load at the actual lifting height

Define the load and height together. Include pallet geometry and the planned pickup and placement positions. A maximum lifting height and maximum load printed separately may not be available together. The listed Yuming product retains its height-dependent load limits.

Questions to resolve before shortlisting

  • What is the gross pallet mass and where is the load centre?
  • Which pallet openings and rack positions must the vehicle access?
  • Where are the narrowest aisle, turning and approach positions?
  • What are the floor conditions, traffic rules and recovery procedures?

What to send with your sourcing brief

Provide a warehouse layout, pallet drawings and load-height combinations. Ask the supplier to validate the route and storage interface with the actual operating conditions.

Platform procurement checklist. Confirm the equipment and integration requirements with the supplier.

Buyer decision notes

Read a warehouse proposal as load–height–route combinations

An autonomous forklift proposal needs a warehouse description, not a single maximum-load filter. Pair each load with the height and rack position where it is used. Include pallet entries, turns, traffic, floor conditions and recovery access. A warehouse vehicle is not a fixed robot arm, so wrist reach and repeatability fields cannot substitute for its handling requirements.

Compare proposals on the same basis

Ask each bidder to answer these items against the same drawings, parts and operating sequence. An unanswered item is a comparison gap, not a passed requirement.

Requested evidence and the gap it resolves
DecisionEvidence to requestAvoid this assumption
Load at heightA load chart tied to the exact configuration, pallet and load-centre conditions. The maximum load and maximum lift are available together.
Aisle accessA route and approach study for turns, rack entry and the actual pallet geometry.A minimum straight-aisle number validates the whole warehouse.
Traffic and navigationThe proposed navigation arrangement, shared traffic zones and site responsibilities.A catalog list of navigation methods identifies the delivered setup.
Exception handlingA documented response to obstructed routes, damaged pallets and interrupted transfers.Automatic operation eliminates manual recovery tasks.

Treat a chart boundary as a question, not an interpolation

The listed Yuming side-loading AGV gives 1,000 kg for 0–2.3 m and 500 kg for 2.3–4 m. Both published bands include 2.3 m, so that exact boundary is unresolved. Request a configuration-specific clarification; do not silently choose the more favourable band or extend the lower-height rating upward.

Compare route studies using the same pallet, load and rack plan. The published 1.7 m minimum aisle relates to the stated arrangement, while a warehouse includes turns, entry angles and occupied spaces. Require a site-specific proposal before treating a dimensional minimum as a layout pass.

Worked sourcing brief

Illustrative procurement exercise. Assumptions below are invented for explanation; this is not a customer case, trial result or quotation.

Assume an 800 kg gross pallet must be stored at 3 m. The recorded upper-height band is 500 kg, so this task cannot be justified by the separate 1,000 kg headline. Change the requirement, storage assignment or proposed equipment only after a supplier review. A second 400 kg pallet at 3 m is below the published band by mass but still needs geometry and route checks. Neither scenario establishes site suitability.

What to record before acceptance

Agree the test method, responsibilities and pass conditions before ordering. The items below are records to request, not a completed validation.

  1. Record gross load, pallet dimensions, height and supplier-confirmed chart for every required storage case.
  2. Demonstrate the agreed route and rack approach with representative loads under the stated site conditions.
  3. Document responsibility for navigation, traffic arrangements, recovery and the warehouse-system interface.

Common buyer questions

Can capacity be interpolated between the two published bands?

The directory provides no supporting curve. Ask the supplier for a load chart instead of inventing an intermediate rating.

Does 1.7 m prove that every 1.7 m aisle will work?

No. The pallet, approach, turning space and configuration must match the supplier’s conditions.
